  • Audience-friendly multimedia materials — the ability to stop animations and hide photos (choose text alternatives instead of graphics);
  • No flashing content — there are no animations or lighting effects on the page exceeding the permissible flicker threshold;
  • Pop-ups and drop-down content — capturing the user's attention is limited to the correct area, it is possible to close it, and the remainder of the page is excluded from use by readers;
  • Respect traffic preferences — when the user restricts animations in the system, the page does not display unnecessary effects;
  • No traps when navigating — mouse actions can be replaced by Enter or Spacebar; there are no shortcuts that depend solely on the device type;
  • Galleries and scrolling images — visible, clear “previous” and “next” buttons with a description of the function are applied, the user can stop scrolling;

Content unavailable

  • Some links do not have a descriptive name
  • Some elements of the interface (e.g. buttons) have too small size or too small spacing in the indications of the test programs, while in the assessment of the test person they do not impede the navigation of the page
  • Some films, multimedia materials do not have audio descriptions, subtitles for deaf people 1,
  • No alternative descriptions and titles for parts of photos and images if this is not necessary,
  • Some PDF documents have errors in the text layer (after scanning/OCR),
  • Some PDF documents are not read correctly by visually impaired programs (e.g., incorrectly prepared tables, charts, images, no navigation sections, title, etc.)

1 Videos without audio description and subtitles

On our website there may be video materials that do not have audio descriptions or subtitles. This decision was made consciously because:

  • Visual content is not crucial to understanding the message: In these specific cases, the information contained in the video is fully accessible and understandable without the need to interpret the visual layer (in the case of audio description) or listen to the audio (in the case of subtitles). The message is based on simple, intuitive images or sounds that do not require additional explanation in order for the recipient to fully understand the content presented.
  • Videos are solely ornamental or complementary in nature: Some videos serve as visual elements to enrich the aesthetics of the site or provide an additional, optional complement to textual content that is itself fully accessible and exhaustive. Their lack or lack of additional facilities does not hinder access to key information.
  • The substantive content is fully available in another form: In situations where the video presents important information, the full substantive content is always available in an alternative form, such as a text transcription, summary or description that meets accessibility standards.
